3-4 working sets is sufficient. rep count needs to be between 6-12 and the weight needs to be enough to cause hypertrophy. Doing 5-9 sets where 4 of the sets are extremely light is just a waste of time. Reps are depending on you and how many sets you are doing in your workout routine.
